Psychology Now (Prue Wright) is a provider of adult and child mental health services to support individuals and families in Sydney's northern beaches area.
We help individuals and families with assessment and evidence-based treatment for a wide range of issues.
We can help with:
Eating disorders in adults, adolescents and children including issues associated with body image and weight management concerns.
Child and adolescent mental health issues such as sadness, fears and worries, grief, trauma and intense emotions.
Mental health conditions in adults including anxiety, depression, grief, impulsive disorders like OCD, managing chronic pain and adjustment to injury or illness.
Diagnosis and management of impulsive management issues, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD.
Attachment and relationship difficulties in families including families in conflict, blended families, separation anxiety, attachment issues and helping families adjust to hard to manage behavioural issues.
Parenting challenges such as help with managing oppositional, highly active and hard to manage children
Preparation for and adjustment to parenting.
The initial appointment is 80 minutes and costs $325
Subsequent appointment cost is $220. Fees can be paid by cash, or credit card (1.95% fee is incurred on credit cards not collected by the Practice) at the end of the appointment or direct deposit.
Fees and appointment lengths alter slightly for other services, e.g for 61 to 75 mins or 76 to 90 mins, and for report-writing. Please contact us for more information about these services.
Rebates for psychological services are available from several sources including:
Under the Medicare ‘Better Access to Mental Health’ scheme, clients with a diagnosable mental health condition can obtain a rebate of $124.50 for each session. This rebate is for up to 10 therapy sessions in each calendar year. To be eligible to receive the rebate you must visit your GP, Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician and obtain a referral for psychological services as part of your overall treatment plan.
If you have reached your Medicare family ‘safety net’ threshold for the calendar year, the rebate will be almost all of the session cost.
