Travel Medicine

Are you travelling overseas?

A doctor is able to provide you medical advice and information regarding travel health and any travel vaccinations required for your intended destination. It is important to be aware of the latest WHO (World Health Organisation) recommendations for travel to any part of the world. Travel medicine has a focus on health promotion and may include travel vaccinations, up to date travel information, malaria prevention, education and awareness of the local culture or region to help prevent accidents and injuries.

Once you have discussed your destination with your GP, the travel vaccines are available for purchase onsite and can then be administered by our nurse, offering you convenience and one stop service.

We stock vaccines for:

  • Hepatitis A adult and junior

  • Hepatitis B adult and junior

  • Typhoid

  • Vivaxim( Hep A+Typhoid combined)

  • Yellow Fever

  • Twinrix (Hep A + Hep B combined)

  • Boostrix (whooping cough)

  • Influenza

  • Tetanus (ADT)

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

Any other vaccines can be purchased from a nearby chemist and administered by our nurse.

It is important to see a doctor at least 4-6 weeks prior to departure as the immunisations may take several weeks to be effective and some require multiple doses.
