Clinical Psychologist- Sarah Zavodnyik

 

Sarah is an authentic, warm and empathetic therapist with over 20 years’ experience. She aims to empower and support her clients in a safe and accepting environment, where individuals can overcome difficulties and achieve personal growth.

 

Sarah is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. Her qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) from Bond University, Queensland and a Post Graduate Diploma of Science (Psychology) from University of Sydney.

 

Sarah has experience working with a range of psychological difficulties such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, personality difficulties, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, poly-substance abuse, relationship issues, pain management, grief and loss, self-harm and difficulties coping with emotions.

Sarah has training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Schema Focussed Therapy, DBT and Mindfulness.

 

Sarah has had a diverse working history within the public, corporate and private sectors. She has contracted to the Department of Corrective Services, Department of Defence, NSW Police, Qld Police Service and Department of Education and Training providing crisis response, individual case management and forensic/medico-legal assessments.

 

Sarah has consulted to several insurance and rehabilitation companies providing Workcover assessments, Functional Capacity Assessments, Independent Medical Assessments and Pre-liability Assessments.

 

In private practice, Sarah’s primary aim has been to understand each client’s unique perspective and goals by taking a collaborative approach. She believes the rapport established in the therapeutic relationship is the best predictor of successful outcomes, as well as involving relevant external treatment providers where necessary (i.e., GPs, Psychiatrists, Social workers, Allied Health).

For individual therapy Sarah's fee is $220 per session. As a clinical psychologist the Medicare rebate is $136.35 with a referral and mental health plan from any GP.
